Growth Science

The GAME MURI team has core expertise in epitaxial growth. We will build on these significant strengths and pursue a comprehensive program across growth methods, orientations, and alloy compositions to realize the full potential of the β-Ga₂O₃ materials system. The team will build on early pioneering growth efforts from the team, and work to develop a deep understanding of the synthesis-structure-property relationships for MBE, MOCVD, and LPCVD growth. The major focus of the epitaxy effort will be on native melt-grown β-Ga₂O₃ substrates which have already realized large size and excellent crystal quality.
